Mentored by executives from Kimberly Clark’s Baby Department with efforts to improve Walmart’s baby registry experience.

My team and I chose to focus on what first-time parenthood looked like during COVID-19. We did in-store walk-throughs, surveyed first-time parents, and interviewed shoppers in the baby departments of Walmart and it’s key competitors.

We found that most of insight we gained was that the Walmart baby registry experience wasn’t much of an enjoyable experience at all. So our proposal was centered around creating an experience for parents that went through the duration of the pregnancy journey through young toddlers that was as exciting as it was to raise the child. We proposed Walmart hosts a community page for parents to join where they could share tips and tricks, product reviews, and empathize with one another.
